I don't sleep in Vallejo, at least I don't sleep much here. I do work in Vallejo more than a few days a week and, more often than not, on a day that I am working, the topic of lunch comes up around 11:30 most mornings. I'm not one of those super organized guys who actually thinks ahead and makes something then night before and brings lunch the next day. Nor am I the type of guy who fawns over leftover fois gras, no matter how good it was the night before. I get this idea in my head that the leftover food is poisoned somehow and it just can't possibly taste good. I wish I were different, but that's what shrinks are for.
It's not that Vallejo is a culinary wasteland, it's not, I don't believe, it's just that I haven't discovered the deliciousness that is lurking just under the surface here. To this end, my three Musketeer friends and I have embarked upon this little project to survey Vallejo's hidden and not so hidden dining options, one letter at a time, right down the alphabet. Call it an alphabet soup if you will, but join us for this culinary adventure.
